This&nbsp;was a very popular model around the 2010s. It was a lot more work than I imagined, and due to I only work on this project during weekend it&nbsp;took more than a month to finish all of the work.<\/p>\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"%25e5%258a%259f%25e6%2594%25be%25e6%259d%25bf%25e7%25bb%25b4%25e4%25bf%25ae-amp-unit-repair\">\u529f\u653e\u677f\u7ef4\u4fee \/ Amp Unit Repair<\/h1>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"%25e9%2597%25ae%25e9%25a2%2598%25e8%25af%258a%25e6%2596%25ad-diagnosing\">\u95ee\u9898\u8bca\u65ad \/ Diagnosing<\/h2>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1164\" height=\"498\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/\u6355\u83b7-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-182\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/\u6355\u83b7-2.png 1164w, https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/\u6355\u83b7-2-720x308.png 720w, https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/\u6355\u83b7-2-256x110.png 256w, https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/\u6355\u83b7-2-768x329.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1164px) 100vw, 1164px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u5728badcaps\u8bba\u575b\u4e0a\u6709\u4e00\u4e2a20\u9875\u957f\u7684\u7f6e\u9876\u5e16\u5b50\uff08<a href=\"https:\/\/www.badcaps.net\/forum\/showthread.php?t=10910\">https:\/\/www.badcaps.net\/forum\/showthread.php?t=10910<\/a>\uff09\uff0c\u5168\u90e8\u90fd\u662f\u5173\u4e8e\u7ef4\u4fee\u8fd9\u6b3e\u97f3\u7bb1\u7684\u7535\u5668\u90e8\u5206\u7684\uff0c\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e86\u5f88\u591a\u975e\u5e38\u6709\u7528\u7684\u4fe1\u606f\u3002\u6839\u636e\u7f51\u7edc\u4e0a\u7684\u4fe1\u606f\u3001\u7ef4\u4fee\u624b\u518c\u4ee5\u53ca\u68c0\u67e5\u6d4b\u91cf\uff0c\u53d1\u73b0\u5982\u4e0b\u95ee\u9898\uff1a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a 20-page long sticky thread on the badcaps forum (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.badcaps.net\/forum\/showthread.php?t=10910\">https:\/\/www.badcaps.net\/forum\/showthread.php?t=10910<\/a>)&nbsp;about repairing the electronics of this speaker, which provided a lot of useful information. Based on these knowledge, service manual, and inspection and measurements, I discovered following problems in the non-working PSU board:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1800\" height=\"1350\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/DSC_0046.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-183\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/DSC_0046.jpg 1800w, https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/DSC_0046-720x540.jpg 720w, https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/DSC_0046-256x192.jpg 256w, https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/DSC_0046-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/DSC_0046-1536x1152.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1800px) 100vw, 1800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u6700\u660e\u663e\u7684\u662fR11\u5df2\u7ecf\u70e7\u7cca\u4e86\uff0c\u8bf4\u660eQ1 S\u6781\u6709\u4ece\u4e3b\u8fb9\u6ee4\u6ce2\u7535\u5bb9\u6765\u7684\u9ad8\u7535\u538b\uff08Q1 GDS\u5168\u90e8\u77ed\u8def\uff0c\u6d4b\u91cf\u8bc1\u5b9e\uff09\u3002\u8fd9\u4e2a\u9ad8\u538b\u70e7\u6bc1\u4e86\u91c7\u6837\u7535\u963bR15\u4e4b\u540e\uff0c\u70e7\u6bc1R11\u3002\u56e0\u6b64R10\u53ef\u80fd\u4e5f\u6709\u635f\u574f\u3002\u9ad8\u538b\u901a\u8fc7Q1 G\u6781\uff0c\u70e7\u6bc1Q3\uff08Q3\u70b8\u4e86\uff09\u3001Q4\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64C15\u3001D9\u3001R13\u3001R12\u3001C13\u53ef\u80fd\u4e5f\u6709\u635f\u574f\u3002\u53bb\u5f80\u5149\u8026\u7684\u7ebf\u8def\u6709\u8fc7\u6d41\u75d5\u8ff9\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u6ca1\u70e7\u65ad\uff0c\u8bf4\u660e\u9ad8\u538b\u4e5f\u53bb\u5230\u4e86VCC\u7f51\u7edc\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64U1\u5fc5\u7136\u5df2\u7ecf\u6302\u4e86\uff0c\u5149\u8026\u4e5f\u5927\u6982\u7387\u635f\u574f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most obvious fault was that R11 was obliterated, which means high voltage from mains filtering caps was present on source pin of Q1 (Q1&#8217;s GDS were all shorted together, confirmed by off-board measurements). This high voltage fried current sense resistor R15 before frying R11. Thus, R10 may also be damaged. The high voltage went through gate of Q1, fried Q4 and exploded Q3. C15 D9 R13 R12 may have also took damage. The silkscreen on the trace to the optocoupler were black suggesting over-current, which means high voltage was present on VCC network, so U1 must have been broken, alone with the optocoupler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1752\" height=\"1101\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/\u6355\u83b72.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-184\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/\u6355\u83b72.jpg 1752w, https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/\u6355\u83b72-720x452.jpg 720w, https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/\u6355\u83b72-256x161.jpg 256w, https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/\u6355\u83b72-768x483.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ddzheng.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/\u6355\u83b72-1536x965.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1752px) 100vw, 1752px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"%25e7%2594%25b5%25e8%25b7%25af%25e6%259d%25bf%25e7%25bb%25b4%25e4%25bf%25ae-pcb-repair\">\u7535\u8def\u677f\u7ef4\u4fee \/ PCB Repair<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>\u5176\u4ed6\u95ee\u9898\u5305\u62ec\u6574\u6d41\u6865\u70e7\u6bc1\u3001NTC\u70e7\u6bc1\u3001D14 D16\u88ab\u66ff\u6362\u6210FR107\uff08\u6027\u80fd\u6bd4\u8981\u6c42\u7684MUR160\u5dee\u5f88\u591a\uff09\u3001\u7535\u5bb9\u9f13\u5305\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\u63a5\u4e0b\u6765\u79fb\u9664\u6240\u6709\u53ef\u80fd\u6709\u95ee\u9898\u7684\u539f\u4ef6\uff0c\u5e76\u8fdb\u884c\u68c0\u6d4b\u3002\u5bf9\u4e8e\u53ef\u80fd\u6709\u635f\u4f24\u7684\u539f\u4ef6\uff08\u5c24\u5176\u662f\u534a\u5bfc\u4f53\u5668\u4ef6\uff09\u5168\u90e8\u66f4\u6362\u4e0d\u4fdd\u7559\u3002\u6211\u5728\u7acb\u521b\u5546\u57ce\u8d2d\u4e70\u4e86\u539f\u4ef6\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7531\u4e8eUC3842\u5df2\u7ecf\u505c\u4ea7\uff0c\u5bf9\u6bd4datasheet\u540e\uff0c\u6211\u9009\u62e9\u4f7f\u7528\u65b0\u578b\u53f7UC3842B\u8fdb\u884c\u66ff\u6362\u3002UC3842B\u542f\u52a8\u7535\u6d41\u6bd4UC3842\u5c0f\uff0c\u5176\u4ed6\u53c2\u6570\u4e00\u81f4\u6216\u66f4\u597d\uff0c\u5e94\u8be5\u53ef\u4ee5\u76f4\u63a5\u66ff\u6362\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MOS\u7ba1\u7528ST\u7684\u5851\u6599\u5c01\u88c5600V 10A\u66ff\u6362\uff0cD14 D16\u7528SF18G 600V 35ns\u8d85\u5feb\u6062\u590d\u4e8c\u6781\u7ba1\u4ee3\u66ff\uff0c\u5149\u8026\u7528CNY17-4\u66ff\u6362\u3002<strong>\u6240\u6709\u7535\u89e3\u7535\u5bb9\u90fd\u6362\u6210\u4e86\u65e5\u672c\u5316\u5de5\u3001\u7ea2\u5b9d\u77f3\u6216\u8005\u5c3c\u5409\u5eb7<\/strong>\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other problems include fried 1N4007, exploded inrush limiting NTC, D14 D16 were replaced with FR107s which&nbsp;have poor performance, and bulging caps. So next step was to remove all offending components and test them. I also choose to replace any component that may have been damaged, especially semiconductors. I bought replacement parts from LCSC.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As UC3842 has been discontinued, I bought UC3842B by ST to replace the IC. UC3842B has smaller start-up current with other parameter being mostly identical or better, so there should be no problem using it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MOSFETs were replaced with two 600V 10A ST MOSFETs in plastic TO-220 package.&nbsp;SF18G&nbsp;600V 35ns ultrafast diodes were used&nbsp;for D14 D16. They were placed close to VCC filtering cap C8, and switching transistor&#8217;s heatsink was close to C8 as well so they constantly bake C8 until it dies, taking out everything. R3 R4 serves as discharge resistor, voltage balance network and startup source. testing the PSU, to avoid further damages and injuries to myself, I used the series-bulb method. A 100W incandescent&nbsp;light bulb was put in series between mains power and&nbsp;PSU. That way, if the PSU is fine, the bulb will light up briefly on plugging in the power, and remain off later. If there is a short circuit in the PSU, bulb will light up. All 4 screw heads were badly damaged, and it even managed to bite out one of my screwdriver bit. When installing it back in, I drilled the hole to 3mm and used M3 screw with nut to hold the amp IC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped The other one has its polyfill removed during repairing of the cabinet.
